NYC Airports Wayfinding

As part of a significant redevelopment effort on its airports, the Port Authority of NY & NJ approached Mijksenaar and W&CO to revamp its existing Wayfinding Standards. This provided the opportunity to build on what worked, while creating a more consistent, modern, and future-proof passenger experience—with a big dose of NYC attitude and style.

Exhaustive analysis into the passenger journey and existing airport experience informed a holistic, yet detailed strategy.

The design took a fresh take on airport wayfinding. During prototyping, special focus was placed on 3D form and type.
